Thanksgiving!
Even though the official Thanksgiving Holiday was on the 23rd of November, we celebrated Sunday the 26th. We should always have an "attitude of gratitude", but it is good to have a day where we focus on what we are thankful for. We are priviliged. I am thankful for my family, and also my extended family. Being an American, living in Norway, has had it's challenges, but with good friends and family, I have survived.
After two days of preparing, baking - old recipies and new ones, it was very satisfying for me to see everyone enjoying the meal. A.C. especially looks as if he enjoyed - couldn't even stop long enough for a picture.
No Thanksgiving meal would be complete without Pumkin Pie! Along with pie, we had brownies, peanut butter cookies, oreos, reeses and kisses. Yes, we have alot to be thankful for. God has blessed us with a beautiful family. We did miss Lars and Marianna, but I know they were taken care of by friends in the U.S.
God bless!

Busy days!
It's been a busy week and although intentions have been good, I haven't gotten to my machine to update, so this will be a "quickie" - just to let all know what's going on at the Nilsen domain.

Odd Arne has been busy fixing the downstairs bathroom. We have several guests arriving Sunday for our Thanksgiving dinner and we need to have this done by then. The shower and furniture won't be installed til after Christmas. But here he is cutting tiles, with all his protective gear. I guess that machine is kinda noisy.

Here are two of my "elves" hard at work. They created this fall poster for our most recent dinner day at church.

Must also mention some of my other "activities". Last Saturday, I was at my company "Julebord" and was assigned the job of setting tables. So from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., I was on my feet. I am the real dancing queen.

The ">tables and chairs were too close together and what looks like a guy wallking on the table, is just a latecomer who had to walk on the chairs to get to his seat. These are some of the people I work with everyday. They are alot bigger in real life! :)
God bless!

Life is a slice!
This Sunday, our cell group had responsibility for the cakes and coffee, and believe me, we aim to please.
So Kjellfrid took this picture, because I was so proud of all our efforts and couldn't wait for the meeting to be over so we could begin to serve!
Do you think that our day stopped there? We drove home, picking up Anita and little Filip on the way. Greeting us as we came in the door was the smell of Yvonnes delicious dinner that she prepared for us and a few friends.
This picture was taken when we were drinking our coffee and eating our OREO's and
Just had to add this picture of Eva and Kjellfrid, even though both of them will be mad at me! :)
I've just talked with both Marianna and Lars (in Oklahoma?!) and all is well.
Have a blessed week!

Happy Birthday to me!

So I thought we were having a party for Celine. That's what they told me, so I bought a present for her. But as I walked in I heard "Happy Birthday to You" then I knew. My good friends, I was really surprised!

So, Odd Arne and Oddbjørn were entertaining some of the children, Celine, Gabrielle and Matteus.

During the party, Nora, who is currently in Wales because of her research, called and we all got to say hello. In her honor I am showing a picture of her little girl Nana.
So it was really a Happy Birthday!
I of course miss my family. Eva is in Oslo, Lars and Marianna are in the U.S. and Arne Christian is home at our house paying bills. (Internet) God has blessed us with such good friends that we know are for us and will always be there. At the party was also, Clara, Kjellfrid, Brit Elin, Andrè and Elisabet and Oddbjørn.
Thank you Father for such good friends.
God bless!
